Dominican Rock band, Tribu del Sol says Good Bye

tribu Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic - Popular Dominican Rock band "Tribu del Sol" says good bye to their fans after more than 10 years entertaining and innovating in genre where very few succeed, due to the lack of incentive and support by the media in Spanish speaking countries. I grew up listening to these guys, and I am sad to see them split up and head their separate ways because somehow they have to "earn the moro" [earn the bacon].

Tribu del Sol became known in 1998 with their single "Búscame", reaching the Song #1 in the top listings of Dominican radio stations. Their first album titled "Buscando una razón", was selected by Billboard Magazine as Best Latin album of 1998 and also winning Tribu del Sol the Cansandra award for Rock group of the year. They were also recognized in The Best of the Dominican Rock awards. Tribu has shared the scenario with big Latin stars such as Chichí Peralta, Pedro Guerra, Jaguares and La Lupita, among others. Their hits include "Búscame", "Ni siquiera el Sol" and "Por tí", which placed Tribu on the Local Rock map.

The Group:

Rafa Payán:Guitarist and producer. Lives in Miami and produces music for others together with Roy Tabaré.

Papolo Sonoro: Drums and songwriter. Currently working on his own project.

Laura Rivera: Vocalist. Proud mom, and on her free time she records chorus for other artists and continues to work on her launch as a solo artist.

As a group, they have a second album named "Destinos", featuring Cuban pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba and the Dominican Manuel Tejada.

Hi.
My name's Alejandra, better known to my family as "Ale." I'm 16.
I'm actually Laura's younger half-sister. In fact, if you look at the album "Buscame," it is dedicated to me amongst others.
I just wanted to thank you for remaining loyal to Laura's music. She keeps making it everyday. In fact, she sent us a new song just a couple of days ago. It's pretty good.
If the demand grows and people like you stay loyal, I'm pretty sure her music will go much farther.
Thank you,
Alejandra Rivera
