A Dominican Breakfast

If there is one thing that I miss when I wake up on the weekend is to be able to enjoy that breakfast my mom used to make - and even wake me up with- on those weekends after a tough and draining work week. Dominican moms really know how to entice you out of bed. The only thing missing in the picture is the rare Zapote Milkshake.

One of the things that I liked when I was in New York was the great gastronomical diversity, I believe that I must have eaten at least food of 10 different countries. In this case one is the famous Dominican Breakfast that includes mangú (cooked green banana , onion, fried eggs, fried cheese and sausage, also fried. Aside from this humble dish, this came accompanied with coffee and milk, Tropicana orange juice (the best one that I have tasted) and toasted bread....No apt for dietetic. All this food was sufficient until the supper.

Una de las cosas que más me gustó cuando estuve en Nueva York fue la gran diversidad gastronómica, creo que debo haber probado por lo menos comida de 10 países diferentes. En este se caso se trata del famoso Desayuno Dominicano "Los Tres Golpes" que incluye mangu (plátano verde cocido, cebolla escabeche, huevos fritos, queso fritos y chorizo, también fritos, a veces reemplazaba el chorizo por salchichón frito o ya no me acuerdo que más se podía. Aparte de este humilde platillo, esto venía acompañado de jugo de naranjas Tropicana (lejos el mejor que he probado), café con leche y tostadas....No apto para dietéticos, jajajaja. Con toda esta comida me aguantaba hasta la cena.
